Don't these two meals look yummy? I LOVE orange chicken! For years I would have it in a restaurant and wish that I could make it at home. My son and I tried once, and it was okay, but not very easy. Now that Wanchai Ferry makes one in this handy kit I can have it anytime I want.

Sometimes my husband and I want something different to eat, but really want a quiet evening at home. These meals are perfect for a "Stay in and go all out night". A yummy dinner plus a movie are what we are all about.

I was fortunate to receive these two meals courtesy of Macaroni Grill and Wanchai Ferry through MyBlogSpark. I was also given a gift card to use for anything else I needed to make the dinner or date night special.

Good news! I am able to give away the same gift to one of my readers. One of you will receive both the Macaroni Grill kit, and the Wanchai Ferry kit, along with a $25.00 pre-paid VISA gift card. Create your own date night at home and enjoy a delicious dinner with little work.

Here is how to enter: Tell me where you and your spouse went for your first date. Our first date was a college winter banquet. The picture is at the bottom of my blog. We looked pretty good together for a first date, huh? I wish he had kept that jacket though, because I am sure it will come back in style...

Post a comment to this post telling me about you and your spouse's first date. On Monday, Nov. 1st I will select one winner through Random.org Be sure to include your email address so I can contact you.

How cute that picture is!

My husband and I had our 1st date 15 years ago at a shopping mall. We were 19 and 20 at the time. I don't have a picture of our 1st date, but I have a picture of us on our 2nd date the next night! On our 2nd date we went to a Mexican restaurant with 2 other couples.

Our first date was at the Sights and Sounds of Christmas in San Marcos, Texas. Ben played the Grinch for the kids and I was his Handler!! The picture is hilarious.

My husband and I were set up on a blind date by his mom and my aunt. We went out to eat and watched 50 First Dates. Who knew blind dates can actually work out!

Mostly we just hung out together and studied. We studied a lot. Physics/Biology majors. We were young and in college and had no money. After hanging out for 2 1/2 months, we went to see Cliffhanger and had dinner. But by then we were already planning our lives together. So Anita a date at home would be perfect for two people who really never "dated". It would suit us to a tee. What a sweet thing that you are doing.
Do compliments or guilt increase my chances. : )

Another blind date story....
my husband and I were "set up" and spent our first date at the local bowling alley. We then went to Lonestar for dinner the next evening. He popped the question 6 weeks later and we were married not quite 5 months after we met. Still going strong 14 years later. Lucky Me!

our first date was to Logan's Steakhouse in Nashville, TN. As you know Ki and I had only talked to each other on the phone for the 3 previous months. We'd swapped pictures about three weeks prior, and he had already asked me marry him. SO.....our first date, I remember nothing more than finally being able to look in his eyes and hold his hand. (didn't even really mind the peanuts all over the floor) LOL. I will say though....our "favorite" date was when we both had colds, made peanut butter toast, hot chocolate and sat in our sweats playing Monopoly! =) What can I say, I'm an at home kinda girl sometimes too!

Our first date was at a Starbucks in Indianapolis. Since we had met on the internet, this was the first time we had met in person. But we had talked for months on line, so it just seemed like I was meeting a friend for coffee. I did pull a kinda meanie on him though..I thought the date was going so well and I was excited to introduce him to my friends...so since Dennis and Eileen were in town at her brothers' house, we went over there and visited. I'm sure that Duane was very uncomfortable, but I got the thumbs up from my friends and 6 years of marriage later, we are more in love than ever!

Official date? "When Harry Met Sally" about 21 years ago, but we went to see his roommate sing and sorta held hands about 4 times before the first official date (that he paid for!).(tomandlois@aol.com)

Our first date was an accident & Donny didn't say a word to me the entire night. :) I was out with a friend who was dating his friend who he happened to be with that night. We ran into each other at the mall & saw a movie together. Would you believe there are some days I can't get him to stop talking now?

Me and Tiff's first date took place on Friday, October 13th 2006 while we were both attending Lincoln Christian College. I planned the whole thing in advance and told her I had a surprise for her at least a month in advance (I still do the same thing today ... even though I know she hates anticipation :D). Anyway, we traveled to the exotic twin cities of Bloomington/Normal, listening to the special cd mix I made (with the assistance of a stellar friend with the initials JGW) for the trip ... I got lost for long enough to be thoroughly embarrassed and finally we found Noodles and Company ... she had Indonesian Peanut Saute and I had the very daring Wisconsin Mac-n-Cheese. We then visited the ISU Planetarium and saw a children's showing about a little bear constellation and his friends, holding hands the whole time of course :) This part of our date had special significance because the first time we hung out together we were looking at the stars. After that I hadn't planned anything but made an impromptu stop at Krispy Kreme Donuts to cap the night off right! We enjoyed half a dozen donuts, coffee, and milk on the 30 mile trek back to LCC. It was perfect ... we do our best to recreate it every October!

We had a great time, but I kinda pulled a mean trick on him. I wanted to get the approval of my friends, who happened to be in town. I took him over to meet them, which I found out later, was very over-welming to him!! But he passed their test and we have been happily married over 6 years now..and He is my best friend.

My fiance and I had our first date a year and 11 months ago. We were almost to Champaign and Brendan turns to me and says," I have no money!, I spent it all on this outfit and gas to impress you and I forgot to get money for tonight!" I had to pay for the dinner although all he got was a water because he felt so bad, I still remind him of this all the time. It was hilarious!

Our first date was at A&W where we met while I was working. He fell madly in love with my blue eyes and I thought he looked like Tom Selleck with his bushy mustache. 37 years later and the magic is still there...Well the mustache still is.

Leave it to two teachers to meet during a school fire drill and have their first date at Chili's during a school improvement early-out day :) 10 years later, we're still enjoying working in education and enjoying our married life.
